FAQ

Questions about the proposed service

Clear answers about the future pathway and this static, enquiry-only preview.

01Is RentBuddy Pay live today?

No. This is a static preview and consultation route. It does not take rent or service fees, create an agreement, run identity verification, record a signature or issue payment instructions.

02Is use required for a tenancy?

No. Any future service would be optional and would not be a tenancy condition.

03Where does my rent go?

Under the proposed arrangement, rent would be deposited into an APA escrow account, with monthly payments arranged by Atlantic Partners Asia PS Limited (APA), Hong Kong MSO licence no. 20-12-02993. RentBuddy does not hold client funds. Live funding is not enabled; the service scope and final agreements must be confirmed before launch.

04What are the six planned steps?

The intended order is package selection and a demonstration-only Stripe service-fee step; landlord details; the RentBuddy Escrow Service Agreement and payment authority; [KYC provider] identity preparation; source-of-funds explanation; then, after future verification, instruction to the APA arrangement.

05Does step 01 move my rent?

No. The step-01 Stripe service-fee display is a demonstration only. Your rent remains with you until step 06, apart from any separate service-fee demonstration.

06What does the landlord provide in the future pathway?

The landlord would provide the property, tenancy period, monthly rent and receiving account. RentBuddy would verify those details before any release. No such details should be sent through the current form or email.

07Who performs identity preparation?

A third-party [KYC provider] is proposed. The intended document-and-selfie journey has a target of about five minutes, not a guarantee, and applies to a Premium funder where relevant. The provider and requirements are not confirmed here.

08When would I receive account details or SWIFT/BIC?

Only after future verification. This website provides no receiving account, amount, payment reference, SWIFT/BIC or instruction.

09What are the annual service fees?

Standard £299/year excl. VAT (£358.80 incl. VAT) · Premium £399/year excl. VAT (£478.80 incl. VAT). They are proposed annual service fees, separate from rent, and no payment is collected here.

10What do the two packages cover?

The seven proposed areas are the core monthly arrangement, funding options, reminders, payment records, bilingual support, end-of-tenancy support and a possible guarantor-route benefit. Premium includes Standard plus its stated family, transparent-rate partner, reminder, record and support additions.

11Can family members fund from overseas?

Premium proposes authorised family funding through a confirmed payments / FX partner, using supported currencies and disclosed rates and charges. This route is not connected on the current website.

12Do landlords pay a service fee?

No landlord service fee is proposed. In a future arrangement, no more than one month’s rent would be released at a time after verification and under final terms. External transfer timing is not guaranteed.

13What happens when a tenancy ends or changes?

Any return of remaining rent would follow final terms and the confirmed partner process. Premium priority assistance does not bypass a dispute, checks or terms and does not promise a date.

14Can I get a service-fee refund?

Proposed refund rule, refund cost to be confirmed and subject to final-terms review: [A full refund is available before identity verification begins; once verification has begun, the verification cost of £__ is non-refundable.] It is not an active refund policy.

15Is a remaining-rent return the same as a service-fee refund?

No. They are separate matters and would be handled under the final terms and confirmed partner process.

16What can I submit through the enquiry form?

Only name, email, role, optional organisation, optional message and contact consent. Do not submit rent, service fees, identity documents, selfies, source-of-funds material, account details, payment evidence or files.

17Does Premium guarantee a future guarantor result?

No. After 12 consecutive months of on-time rent, a Premium tenant may be considered for a faster guarantor review or fee discount the following year, subject to conditions and separate terms. It is not automatic.
